Craryville Farmhouse
This home underwent a transformative gut renovation, thoughtfully designed in collaboration with the owner and CB President Jock Winch Jr. to bring their vision to life. Our Design & Build teams skillfully integrated multiple room additions and modern comforts with its timeless Hudson Valley farmhouse charm.
Originally, the structure had a haphazard layout with previous additions and renovations that obscured its original character. The team stripped the home down to its bones, exposing the beautiful original features like extra wide plank old growth floors, with a few boards up to 24 inches, and timber framing.
In the great room, which was formerly a garage, we vaulted the ceiling and installed a custom fireplace. The wood paneling throughout was carefully treated - bleached and lightly painted to achieve the pickled look.
The kitchen was completely reconfigured by removing an oddly placed bathroom and opening up the space. New oak floors and custom cabinets, including a handmade butcher block island, were installed.
Perhaps the most impressive transformation was the primary suite addition. Here, our design team created a luxurious en-suite bathroom with radiant heated floors, a large walk-in shower, and a freestanding tub. A guest bathroom was also added, featuring soapstone countertops and a unique glass-enclosed shower. Upstairs, the team converted the attic space into a third full bathroom, adding to the home's functionality.
The farmhouse’s exterior was upgraded with a new metal roof, repointed chimneys, and a beautifully landscaped stone courtyard. A screened porch, with heated stone floors, and an enclosed pool area complete this picturesque country estate.
